APMRU's
Entomological Radar Studies. Comprehensive information on the radar-entomology
research program being conducted by the United States Department of Agriculture's
Agricultural Research Service. Recent research projects include a study of
corn
earworm (Heliothis zea) migration, bat
activity, target identification, and
local and distant flights of corn earworms. (These summaries
come from NCR-148 research reports.
Insect
Monitoring Radar. Australian project to develop a fully automatic radar
capable of long-term, low-cost operation, for use by pest managers.
NEXRAD/VLR
Proposal. Proposed collaborative project between CIMMS and NRIRU
to study role of insects in producing "clear air" echo detected
by WSR-88Ds ("NEXRADs") and used by them to determine winds.
